1. Got problems with registration. What can I do?
If you got "Wrong Captcha" messages:

2. I‘m getting errors while patching. What can I do?
-You have to start everything with administrator rights.
-Windows 7: Don‘t install NyanRO on C: (or on your system drive). If you‘re unable to do so please post a detailed Thread with everything you‘ve done, what your problems are and where the errors occour.
3. The client is missing dlls and won‘t start. What can I do?
Ragnarok Online Clients are developped using Microsoft Visual C++. To start it, you‘ll need to install Visual C++ Redistributable Package first. You can get it on Microsoft Download Center: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)
4. Are there customs on NyanRO?
In order to keep the balance and mostly original gameplay, there are / will be no custom items, monsters or anything else.
5. What is the 2nd Patcher?
Problem:
  • According to our experience, updating the RO-patcher was always problematic. A manual patch was the only solution. This often caused errors, because users did not install the updates correctly.
Our solution:
  • We added a second patcher to our client. It starts after the regular patcher together with nyan.exe. Normally it is just a small window, which closes automatically after patching and starts the client.
  • This patcher also fixes possible errors, where you are unable to patch. Simply start nyan.exe manually once and wait until it finished patching. After that, the RO-patcher should work normally again.
  • It doesn‘t matter whether you use the regular patcher or the alternative patcher, because our second patcher works together with nyan.dat directly.
  • If there are any problems with the patcher, please contact us to find a solution.
6. What‘s up with renewal?
To avoid problems with the latest kRO updates, we‘re using the ragRE Client. So we‘re using the ragRE interface but we don‘t use the Skill- or Stat- system of ragRE.
7. What‘s up with instant cast?
You‘ll get instant cast with 180 dex.
Please note: most of the 3rd class skills got a fixed casttime. This fixed casttime can only be reduced by some 3rd class skills (like Sacrament, Dance with Warg)!
8. How does the jobchange system work?
Our jobchange system works really simple (like official):

Short way:
You won‘t get the rebirth bonus-skills and stats here. The maximum level is 99/50. The short way is recommended only for TESTING a class.
  • Novice -> 1st class -> 2nd class -> 3rd class

Long way:
Here you‘ll get the rebirth bonus-skills and stats from the 2nd class. the maximum level is 160/50. We recommend this way for PvP / MvP / WoE characters.
  • Novice -> 1st class -> 2nd class
  • Rebirth
  • High Novice -> 1st class (Trans) -> 2nd class (Trans) -> 3rd class (Trans)
When changing to 3rd class, you will keep the first and second class skills.
9. How can I play on Mac/Linux?
Unfortunately, the Ragnarok Online client doesn‘t officially support Mac or Linux. But it is possible to get RO working on other operating systems using Wine.

10. Why do I get a "cannot init D3D or GRF file has a problem!" error when opening the client?
This error is usually caused by missing or outdated drivers, or misconfigured graphics settings. The first thing to try is run setup.exe and ensure that the Graphics Device and Resolution settings have both been set.

If both these settings are blank and have no available options, try downloading and installing the DirectX Runtime files from Microsoft, as well as updating your graphics card drivers, then run Setup again and check if options are now available.

If you can set a resolution, please note that some higher resolutions (anything above 2048x1536) also can cause this error. Ragnarok is an old game and not designed for resolutions this high.
11. How can I fix graphical glitches and/or FPS drops in game?
If you‘re experiencing graphics or lag issues in-game, it may be due to the client‘s graphics settings. Some newer graphics cards in particular don‘t work very well with the Ragnarok Online client. All of the graphics settings can be found by running setup.exe.

The first thing you can try is changing the selected Graphics Device. Depending on your setup, you‘ll likely have more than one option here, so try each of them and see if any of them fix the issues you‘re seeing in-game.

If none of these options fix the issue, you can try disabling Trilinear Filtering. If you‘re using an older computer, lowering the sprite/texture quality or reducing the resolution may help with FPS lag as well, though this will of course impact how the game looks.
12. My client crashes when attempting to dual client
This is typically caused by User Account Control settings. It can be fixed by disabling desktop dimming for UAC by opening the Start Menu or the search panel, searching "UAC", and clicking "Change User Account Control settings." From here you can select the "do not dim my desktop" option, and dual clienting should now work.

Some users have also reported fixing this by setting the client to run in compatibility mode for WinXP SP3, though it hasn‘t worked for others.
